GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) Updated 23/05/18
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (widely known as GDPR) comes into force on the 25th May 2018. There is also something called the Data Protection Bill (DPB) which will become the Data Protection Act 2018. This process is currently going through parliament.
To reiterate, GDPR refers to the new regulations and DPB refers to the proposed UK legislation.
The GDPR sets out the rights that individuals have with regard to personal information (known as ‘data’) which we (as a college) have on file.
We are currently looking at all aspects of how we collect, process, store and protect your data that you provide us to ensure we are fully compliant with GDPR. We will always ask for consent when collecting your data, as well as letting you know how your data is going to be used and by who.
We have now updated our Data Protection policy to reflect GDPR.
