Apprentice IT Technician
Job Details
We are looking to have a passionate individual to join the IT department. You will be carrying out IT repairs and networking issues, you will be working towards the Level 3 ICT apprenticeship at Wise Origin College.
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Helping to maintain the running of the Kite Distribution network servers which consists of installing software, managing the Network Operating System, diagnosing and fixing faults and backing up servers
- Helping to maintain the Kite Distribution Network Infrastructure, which consists of maintenance and repair of switches, access points and routers
- Providing guidance and support to staff in the process of logging-in, using e-mail, and use of applications packages
- Undertaking any additional role of responsibility as defined by the ICT Services Director
- Helping the network technician to create, maintain and manage login accounts for staff and students including the monitoring and recording of equipment and network abuse
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship Standard
- Apprenticeship training will be delivered online from our head office Wise Origin College
- Full support from Digital Skills Trainer for the duration of the Apprenticeship
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- There is an opportunity to be secure a permanent position after successfully completing the apprenticeship

- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C) essential
Annual wage
£10,158.72 a year
Working week
Monday to Friday between 9am to 5pm.
Total hours per week: 37 hours a week
